From whence did we come?
- Genesis 1-2 gives a very full and rational explanation for the origin of all things including mankind. But in order for one to fully understand and accept this as the only explanation requires faith. In fact, since no human observers remain from the beginning, it takes faith to believe any answer to this question. Yet, only God-given faith can accept and appreciate the unseen “evidence” (Hebrews 11:1).
To where are we going?
- Scripture is clear that there are only 2 eventual destinies for mankind: a place of joy (commonly called heaven) and a place of torment (commmonly called hell). The latter was created for Satan and his followers. The former is offered only to those who are completely righteous. Because of man’s sin, he can not enter heaven apart from Christ’s imputed righteousness (Romans 8:10).
For what were we created?
- The eternal purpose of God in creation is to receive glory (Ephesians 1:9-14). Even when man sets himself against Him, God will receive glory by us (Exodus 14:4; Proverbs 16:4).
