Life summed up.
It has been several years since I blogged. Matter of fact, I think the last time was in 2011. I only posted a few times in 2011, and before that it was 2008 since I blogged. The reason: Facebook. I have found I tend to just post random things without a lot of thought behind them, so I am pulling away from Facebook. Hopefully, this will help in several ways. 1. I will not be tempted to waste time scrolling through my feed. 2. I will be more intentional with what I write. 3. I will have a better record of the funny things my kids do and say. 4. I will not cause others to be judgemental of my numerous posts. =) (That is written in jest, somewhat.) 5. Only those that want to see my posts will see it. There are some things that I will miss. 1. Prayer updates on friends. 2. Invitations to activities. 3. Announcements (family, sales, etc.) Overall, I think this is a good and necessary move as my family becomes busier. We were busy with toddler activities, but Landon will be moving into the Jr. High this summer and we have already had a taste of the busyness of older kids. My previous blog was entitled Prayer, Praise and Playfulness. I plan on continuing that theme in my posts but also adding Ponderings, Pictures, and Penny-pinching elements. Since this is a family blog, the kids may occasionally post some of their writings and drawings. (I am thankful that my kids love paper. They love to draw and write. Creativity is one of their strong points.)
Prayer: Please pray for a former pastor’s wife, Becky Szydlowski, as she begins cancer treatments. (Feel free to email me with prayer requests. I will only post them publicly if you ask me to.)
Praise: My family is healthy. We had a rough few weeks. (If you have a praise you would like to share with me, I would love to rejoice with you!)
Playfulness: I do not have any play-dates planned yet, but hopefully soon I will be utilizing the calendar function of this new site. =) This is where I will be posting the family funnies.
Pictures: I have been taking one picture for each day as mentioned on www.househoncho.com. I will be posting all the pictures I have taken so far, and then adding more throughout the year. I also will be posting family pictures.
